As a self-taught painter, I learned most from studying the work of other artists. I realised very early on that I was most influenced by works that were backed up by serious field experience and first-hand observation.

Following this line of thought, I try to research all my subjects as much as possible, and I feel that this is the only way I can produce authentic work.
